50th Anniversary
* Connie and Armando Urias celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with dinner with their children and renewing of their vows and prayer officiated by Rev. Gilberto Marez.
* They were married Nov. 15, 1944. Their eight children, all of Tucson, are Yolanda (Albert) Majuta, Armando (Olivia) Urias, Daniel (Rebecca) Urias, Irene Grimes, Lorraine (Mel) Bashner, Geraldine (Gilbert) Rosales, Olivia (Elias) Marez, and Hector Urias. They have 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Allen
50th Anniversary
* Viola B. and William A. Allen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party organized by their children.
A pictorial video depicting their lives was prepared by family friend Candy Collmar of Star Studios in Phoenix.
* They were married Oct. 14, 1944 in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Their children are Cheryl A. Carson and Judy L. Gish of Phoenix, and William A. Allen of Tucson.
* They moved to Phoenix in 1958. Mr. Allen retired from Litchfield Park Properties, Litchfield Park, Ariz. and the couple came to Tucson in 1980.
Luehrs
50th Anniversary
* Mary and Carl Luehrs celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with family and friends at a dinner party at the White Dove Restaurant at the Sheraton Tucson El Conquistador.
* They were married Oct. 3, 1944 and have lived in Arizona 35 years. Their children are Terri Pezzi of Tucson; Cheryl Gilbert of Beaumont, Texas; Bob Luehrs off Pleasanton, Calif.; and Mary Smith of Yuma. They have seven children.
Thomas
50th Anniversary
* Lillian and Benjamin Thomas celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
* The couple was married Nov. 2, 1944 in Rochester, Minn. They have lived in Arizona 17 years. They have one child, Authur R. Thomas of Greely, Colo. and two grandchildren.
* Mrs. Thomas, 79, retired from Goodyear Aircraft in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Thomas, 86, is retired from Safeway Scaffolds.
He bowls three to four times a week and assists at two bingo events.
Miller
50th Anniversary
* W. Jane and Donald L. Miller celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with celebration in Laughlin, Nev. followed by an excursion to Hawaii.
* They were married Nov. 11, 1944 in Wheeler, Texas. The couple has lived in Arizona 29 years.
* Their children are Terri (Jack) Getman of Austin, Texas, David (Wendy) Miller of Phoenix, and Texanna (Topper) McPhail of Tucson. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
* Mr. Miller retired from the U.S. Army and civil service.
Curtis
60th Anniversary
* Fern and Clark Curtis celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary with friends and family from the mid-West at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Cheryl Curtis.
* They were married Nov. 3, 1934 in Clinton County, Ohio and have lived in Arizona 46 years.
* Their other children are Maxine (Gerry) Ault and Kathleen (Ted) Holmes) of Tucson. They have seven grandchildren and two great- grand children.
* Mr. Curtis retired from Mountain States Telephone.
Foor
50th Anniversary
* Clayton M. and Rose Ann Foor plan to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary next week with a dinner dance at The Club at La Mariposa hosted by their children. Guests from six states will attend.
* They were married Nov. 28, 1944 at Fort Dix. They raised five sons: the late Clayton II; Robin of Belmont, Calif.; Michael of Tucson; Matthew of Stockton, Calif; and Kevin of San Rafael, Calif. They have six grandchildren.
* Mr. Foor is a retired attorney.
Warnes
54th Anniversary
* Doris Marie and Glenn LeRoy Warnes celebrated their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Karen’s Cafe in Elgin, Ariz.
* The couple married Nov. 11 in Madison, Wis. They have been in Arizona eight years.
* Their children are Vicki Click and Michelle Warnes, both of Tucson. They have two grandchildren.
* Mrs. Warnes is a retired gourmet cook and Mr. Warnes retired after 40 years with Northland Greyhound Lines.
Ledeboer
50th Anniversary
* Iona and Clarence Ledeboer celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a party at the Green Valley Village Recreation Center on June 4.
* Their children, Lori Ledeboer of Rio Wis., and Bruce Ledeboer of Sheboygan, Wis. hosted a celebration with relatives from the mid-west at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Howards Grove Wis. on Aug. 7.
* The couple was married in Seattle, Wash. on May 27 1944. They have one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Wazenegger
60th Anniversary
* AnnaMae and Elmer Wazenegger celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary with a day of fun and festivities that ended with supper at the Arizona Inn with their son and daughter-in-law, Janet and Jack Walcott, and two grandsons Alan and Ron.
* The couple was married Nov. 14, 1934 at Pittsburgh, Penn. and has lived in Arizona 46 years.
Santa-Lucia
50th Anniversary
* Margaret and Joseph Santa-Lucia celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a Catholic Mass and renewal of vows at the Chapel on MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. A breakfast reception at the home of their son James preceded the mass and a dinner reception followed. The celebration continued at Epcot Center in Orlando, Fla.
* They were married June 10, 1944 in Binghamton, N.Y. They have lived in Tucson since 1984. He is retired from IBM and she is a retired nurse.
Tarajkowski
50th Anniversary
* Helen and Peter Tarajkowski celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception at Mountain View Restaurant hosted by their children.
* They were married Sept. 30, 1944 in Springfield, Vt. and have lived in Arizona 49 years.
* Their three children are Camilla Grunow and Peter Tarajkowski of Tucson and Carl Tarajkowski of Phoenix. They have five grandchildren.
* Mr. Tarajkowski, now retired, was self-employed at Pete’s Cabinet Shop for 40 years.
Petersen
50th Anniversary
* Mabel and Russell celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with close friends and family at a dinner party in the home of their grandson, Warren Jackson.
* The Petersens were married Oct. 14, 1944 in Welsh, La. and have lived in Arizona 36 years. They have two children, JoAnn Kruger and Conrad Jackson, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
* Mr. Petersen retired from the Air Force in 1961 and from the Veterans Administration Hospital in the mid-1980s.
