Horner
40th Anniversary
Shirley and John Horner celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary with a dinner party at Foothills Casa Molinas preceded by the taking of this family portrait as a gift from their children. They have six children. They and their children are identified in the photograph and the rest are the Horners’ grandchildren and their children’s spouses.

The second man from the right is Lowell Horner of Draper, Utah. The fourth man from the right is Darrell Horner of Tucson and in front of him is Deborah Randels of Glendale.
Shirley and John were married Dec. 19, 1953 at the First Baptist Church. They graduated from Amphitheater High School that same year and were homecoming “A’ Day queen and king in their senior year. Shirley has lived in Tucson since 1944 and is employed by D.E.S., Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility. John has lived here since 1948 and is employed by Shamrock Foods Company.
Kundrat
50th Anniversary
Dorothy and Edward J. Kundrat celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a weekend stay at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona – a gift from their family.
They have three children: John Kundrat, Tucson; Marsha Barclay, Glens Falls, N.Y.; and Kathy McCabe, Seattle, Wash. They have four grandchildren.
The Kundrafts were married Sept. 18, 1943 in Centerline, Mich. Mrs. Kundrat is a retiree of Royal Oak Public Library and Mr. Kundrat is a retiree of Charles A. Strelinger Company.
Scheeringa
50th Anniversary
Dorothy and Gilbert Scheeringa celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at a surprise party held at the home of their son and daughter-in-law Mark and Judy Scheeringa.
They were married Jan. 27, 1944 in Highland, Ind. and have 12 children, 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Their children Dolores, Evelyn, Mark, Ed, David, Gerald and Arthur live in Tucson with their families.
Mrs. Scheeringa is a retiree of Lake County Nursing Home and Mr. Scheeringa retired from Schereville Steel.
Gaither
40th Anniversary
Evelyn and Karl Gaither celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary on an outing in their motor home with the Telephone Pioneers of America and Family Campers, their “other’ family.
They were married Jan. 29, 1954 in Lordsburg, N.M. Natives of Phoenix, they both are now retired. Mrs. Gaither retired from First Interstate Bank and Mr. Gaither retired from U.S.West.
They have three children: Brenda Gaither and Karlene Edling of Tucson and Denise Maurer of Phoenix. They have four grandchildren.
Foard
40th Anniversary
Carol and Jerry Foard celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary with a family dinner party at Charles Restaurant.
They were married Jan. 30, 1954 in Tucson. They have four children, all living in Tucson: David Foard, Marie Ledwith, Michael Foard and Diane Humble. They also have 11 grandchildren.
Carol Foard, a homemaker, is the daughter of long-time residents Marie E. and Herman E. Haase. Jerry Foard is an IBM retiree where he was employed 37 years.
Stetson
50th Anniversary
Ruth and Gilbert Stetson celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Feb. 12, 1994 at New Testament Baptist Fellowship Hall. Hosting the event were their children Steve Stetson, Joyce Cheney and Jeff Stetson. The Gilbert Stetsons have eight grandchildren.
Friends and relatives from Arizona, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida and New Mexico attended the celebration.
The Stetsons were married Feb. 12, 1944 in North East, Penn. They now are semi-retired.
La Jeunesse
50th Anniversary
Lorraine and Robert La Jeunesse celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a luncheon buffet at Tucson Meadows Mobile Home Park Clubhouse for family and friends.
The La Jeunesses were married Feb. 12, 1944 in Chicago, Ill. They both are retired and have lived in Arizona 32 years.
They have six children: Jan Dragoo, Sierra Vista; Tom La Jeunesse, Boulder, Colo.; Carole Harbour, Fresno, Calif.; Kathy Kellum, Tucson; Bob La Jeunesse, Glendale; and Leslie Atchison, Tucson.
