Robert and Cheryl Welch, Moran, will mark their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday.
Robert Welch and Cheryl Thompson were married Aug. 3, 1968, in a ceremony at Moran United Methodist Church. The Rev. Earl Markley officiated.
Mrs. Welch is the daughter of the late Fred and Illah Thompson. Mr. Welch is the son of the late Lloyd and Ruth Welch.
The wedding party consisted of twin maids of honor, Nita (Thompson) Hunt and Nina (Thompson) Worthington, sisters of the bride.
Best man was Don Welch, brother of the groom. Ronnie Strong was a groomsman.
Linda (Thompson) Heffern, sister of the bride, was the flower girl.
Kent Thompson, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Karol (Welch) Pock and Kristi (Welch) Hartman, nieces of the groom, were candle lighters.
They were escorted by Larry Thompson, brother of the bride, and Dale Heard, cousin of the bride.
Darrell Thompson, brother of the bride, Marvin Anderegg and Jim Tryborn were ushers.
The Welches have three children, Tina Ashford and her husband, Steve, Teri Shaughnessy and her husband, Shayne, and Scott Welch and his wife, Amy.
They have six grandchildren, Aaron, Nicole, Emily and Autumn Ashford and Chase and Shelby Shaughnessy.
