Miss Karen Sue Martin and Mr. Shane Ray Bierman were married on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at four-thirty in the evening at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston.
The Reverend Frankie Rodrigues officiated at the ceremony. The groom's mother and stepfather gave a reception following the ceremony at The Plaza
Club. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's Father and Grandparents gave a rehearsal dinner at Pappasitos.
The bride is the daughter of the late Ms. Mary Sue Wakefield and Mr. Bobby D. Martin, and the niece of Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Wakefield of Freeport, Texas. The groom is the son of Mrs. Connie Rankin and Mr. Richard E. Bierman of Houston, Texas.
The bride was given in marriage by her Uncle Jerry Wakefield, scripture readings were given by Donald O. Rankin, stepfather of the groom, and Miss Wendy Rae Martin, sister of the bride. Serving as Maid of Honor was Paula Alexander, a friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Debbie Martin, Miss Wendy Martin, Angela Rushing, and Becky Foxworth. Mr. Greg Svreck served as Best Man. The groomsmen were David Gitlitz, Tim Lott, David Wilson, John Seeger and Ryan Wallace. Members of the House Party included Dustin Beckham and Rene Ybarra.
Following their honeymoon in Aruba, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
