Kelley Elizabeth Nance and Ryan William Summers were joined by family and friends as they were united in marriage on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 7:30 in the evening at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. James Jackson and Rev. Wick Stuckey. Ralph Denman Nance, uncle of the bride, and Radiance String Quartet provided music for the ceremony. Abigail Nance, cousin of the bride, and Danny McReynolds sang "The Prayer" and Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Spence III, cousins of the bride, sang the "Lords Prayer". Emily Eastberg, cousin of the bride, and Matthew Bishop gave Scripture readings.

Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Houston Country Club, which also honored the celebration of the marriage of the bride's sister, Mary Ashley Nance and Michael John Sarraille, which took place at Chapelwood United Methodist Church earlier that same day. The guests were greeted with music by Radiance String Quartet and later danced to the music of The Hot Flashes and the Mambo Jazz Kings. On the eve of the wedding the groom's mother and father and the bride's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Swinging Door Dance Hall, where the Texas Stars provided country western music after dinner. Natalie Bourgeois, Ashley Hanks, Aleini Lacombe, Janelle Fernandez, and Ashley Sarraille hosted a combination bridesmaid dinner and lingerie shower at the bride's home on Thursday before the wedding. The day after the wedding the bride's grandmother and aunts hosted a brunch at the bride's home for family.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Spence Nance, of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Heflin Baker, the late Mr. Charles Edwards Richards Jr., and Mrs. Thomas Maurice Moran, and Mr. and Mrs. James Kinchen Nance and the late Kathryn Spence Nance of Houston.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Lois Winifred Smith Summers and Mr. William Stephen Summers of Pearland. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margurite Massey Smith and the late Mr. John Peter Smith.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father the bride wore an Angelique couture gown of gold matte satin, which featured an A-line skirt with intricate Soutache embroidery along the bodice and around the hem of the skirt. The dress fell into a semi-Cathedral train and was complimented by a fingertip veil, hemmed in satin, in the same shade of gold.

Serving as the bride's matron of honor was Ashley Nance Sarraille of San Diego, California, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Natalie Ann Bourgeois of Houston, Texas, Janelle Ann Fernandez of Woodlands, Texas, Ashley Carmen Hanks of College Station, Texas, Aleini Fernandez Lacombe of Houston, Texas, Anne Miller Caudill of Houston, Texas, and Angela Gayle Mitchell of Pearland, Texas. The House Party included Kristen Richards Bauerkemper, Emily Catherine Eastberg, Laura Michelle Richards, all of Austin, Texas and cousins of the bride, Courtney Roseman Brynes of Houston, Texas, Rachel Johanna Kelting of Houston, Texas, cousin of the bride, Ashley Marie Loven of The Woodlands, Texas, and Abigail Joni Nance of Victoria, Texas, cousin of the bride.

The best man was Oliver-J Massey Smith Summers of Pearland, Texas, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Steven Omar Izzat of Pearland, Texas, Kevin Joseph Kracker of Rosenberg, Texas, David Andrew Lacombe of Houston, Texas, William Spence Nance, Jr. and Charles Justin Nance of Houston, Texas, brothers of the bride, Michael Lloyd Oxley of Dallas, Texas, Jeremy Evin Thomas of Weatherford, Texas, and John Kevin Young of College Station, Texas. The Ushers were Matthew Allan Bishop of Houston, Texas, Joseph Wayne Gori of Houston, Texas, Bradley Royce Hurt of College Station, Texas, and George Patrick Milam of Pearland, Texas.

The bride is a graduate of Memorial High School and Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She is currently a first grade teacher for Spring Branch Independent School District.

The groom is a graduate of Pearland High School and Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He is currently employed by Spencer Gray Staffing Firm.

Following a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands, the couple will reside in Houston.
