Heather Marie Yurkon, daughter of Thomas and Catherine Yurkon, 14 Woodridge Road, Amsterdam, was united in marriage to Michael Di Paola, son of Michael and Teresa Di Paola of 87 Sunset Drive, Patterson, Putnam County, at 2 p.m. Sept. 21, 2002.
The ceremony took place at St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, Amsterdam. The Rev. Stanislaus Swierzowski officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Maid of honor was Theresa Mycek of Latham, cousin of the bride. Bridal attendants were Pina Di Paola of Patterson, sister of the bridegroom, Afton Yurkon of Boston, Mass., and Gina Di Paola of New Milford, Conn. Miniature bride was Gianna Di Paola of New Milford, niece of the bridegroom.
Best man was Pasquel Di Paola of New Milford, Conn., brother of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Jerry Macchia of Patterson, cousin of the bride, Adam Stern of Scarsdale and Michael Arcioulo of White Plains, both in Westchester County, cousin of the bridegroom. Miniature bridegroom was Ian Lyle of Tucson, Ariz., cousin of the bridegroom.
A reception for 165 guests was held at Glen Sanders Mansion, Scotia.
A wedding trip was to Disney World, Orlando, Fla. The couple resides at 90 Holland St., Harrison, Westchester County.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of Amsterdam High School, a 1999 graduate of University at Albany, and is attending Manhattanville College for a master's degree in special education. She works for Ryebrook School District.
The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Carmel High School and a 1999 graduate of the University at Albany. He works at ABN AMRO, New York City.
