Frank and Lois Goldfuss

Frank K. and Lois Goldfuss, Topeka, observed their 55th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Lois D. Barr and Frank K. Goldfuss were married June 18, 1949, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka.

Their remaining children are Debra Dilks, Topeka, and Karla Barber, Auburn. The couple have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Goldfuss retired in 1988 from Kaw Valley Electric Co-operative after 18 years of service.

Mrs. Goldfuss is retired from the Kansas Department of Transportation after 14 years of service.

The couple reside at 5114 S.W. Shunga Drive, Topeka, 66614-1477.

(Obituary of Lois Goldfuss: "Lois Dale Goldfuss, 83, of Topeka, died Friday, April 26, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She was born September 20, 1929 in Topeka KS, the daughter of William Lester and Gladys Hart Barr. She grew up and attended Topeka schools, graduating from Topeka High School in 1947. She married Frank Goldfuss on June 18, 1949; he survives of the home. They made their home in Topeka throughout their marriage. Lois enjoyed her children and grandchildren, sewing, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crafts and craft shows and yearly craft show trips to Arkansas. She was a Past Regent of the DAR, a member of the German-American Club and the Daytrippers. She was employed by the State of Kansas for many years as a payroll clerk. Lois is survived by daughters Debra Dilks, Topeka, and Karla Barber, Auburn; A sister, Barbara Gaddis (Gene), Topeka; Grandchildren Traci Mercer (Stephen), Amanda Dilks, Erik Dilks (Shannon), Hollie Fusaro, and Megan Hughes (Matt); Seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son Rick Goldfuss. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:00a.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka, KS 66614. A visitation will be held also at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Faith Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society and can be left in care of the funeral home.")

(Obituary of Frank Goldfuss: "Frank Karl Goldfuss, 88, of Topeka, died Monday, September 29, 2014, at Lexington Park Nursing Home. Frank was born December 7, 1925, in Ebenezer NY, the son of John and Martha (Hensel) Goldfuss. He received his education in the public schools of Buffalo NY and attended the University of Buffalo. On February 29, 1944, Frank joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country until 1946. In 1948 Frank moved to Topeka and was employed by the local Chevrolet Dealer from 1948 until 1969. Following his employment at the Chevrolet Dealership, Frank worked for 18 years at Kaw Valley Electric Cooperative Company. He retired in 1988. Frank was united in marriage to Lois D. Barr on June 18, 1949. They made their home in Topeka for their entire married life. Lois preceded him in death on April 26, 2013. Frank was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Gem and Mineral Society, Genealogical Society, the American Legion, as well as a member and the first elected President of the German American Club of Topeka. Frank had many hobbies and interests including auctions, collecting stamps and coins, and woodworking and quilting. Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank is survived by daughters Debra Dilks and Karla Barber, both of Topeka; a sister, Martha Lind, Anaheim CA; sister-in-law, Barbara Gaddis (Gene), Topeka; grandchildren, Traci Mercer (Stephen), Amanda Dilks, Erik Dilks (Shannon), Hollie Fusaro, and Megan Hughes (Matt); seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, son Rick Goldfuss, four brothers and one sister. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604. Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Midland Care Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka KS 66606.")
