Connell - Salem
Nicole Diane Salem and James Lee Connell, Jr., of Raleigh, were married November 2, 2002, at one-thirty in the afternoon at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Reverend Robert D. Edmunds officiated. After the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at the Beach Plum Inn in Chilmark, Massachusetts. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Diane Lora Parsons-Salem of St. Louis, Missouri and Dr. and Mrs. Deeb Nicholas Salem of Lincoln, Massachusetts. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Crocker Parsons of Lexington, Massachusetts, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Amin Salem of Brooklyn, New York. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. James Lee Connell of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mrs. John Scott Pollard III of Fayetteville and the late Mr. Pollard, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Sharpe Connell of Raleigh. Miss Ashley Claire Walter of Coral Gables, Florida, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Anne Gibson Connell of Charleston, South Carolina, sister of the groom; Miss Laura Stuart King of Raleigh; Mrs. Michelle Agapion Morgan of Wake Forest; and Mrs. Jennifer Jenkins Pippin of Charlotte. James Lee Connell served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Walter Eugene Daniel IV of Houston, Texas, Bradley Rouse Hunter of Raleigh, Robert Cullen Rapp III of Greensboro, and cousin of the groom, James Richard Leonard III of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Savana Kulp Lamar of Charlotte, was the reader and Miss Rebecca Lynn Kalons of Raleigh, was the guest book attendant. Cousin of the bride, Jillian Noelle Fascitelli of Providence, Rhode Island, served as the program attendant. The bride graduated from Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, Virginia, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. She is a network communications consultant with Time Warner Telecom. The groom is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Virginia, and Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Virginia. He is a real estate agent with Hodge and Kittrell. After a honeymoon trip to Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
