Chance - Desvousges
Anne Michelle Desvousges of Raleigh and Ryan Van Chance of Albemarle were married November 8, 2003, at two-thirty in the afternoon on St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Reverend David Hammon officiated the double ring ceremony. A wedding dinner, hosted by the groom's mother, was held at Asolare, St. John. A wedding reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held on November 22, 2003, at Exploris Museum in Raleigh. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Desvousges of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Sarah Frances Hartley of St. Augustine, Florida, and the late Mr. V.R. Hartley, and Mr. and Mrs. John M. Desvousges of St. Augustine. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Reginald L. Chance of Albemarle and the late Mr. Reginald L. Chance. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vance R. Lefler of Albemarle, and Mrs. Onnie Chance of Albemarle and the late Mr. Elmon Chance. The bride wore a strapless ivory gown of silk satin organza, with a hand beaded and embroidered bodice, horizontal waistline and a ruffle tiered A-line skirt and sweep train. She carried a bouquet of mixed tropical flowers. Ms. Kristen M. Hartley of St. Augustine, Florida, served as maid of honor and Mrs. Suzanne Hartley Triplett of Durham served as matron of honor. Mr. Stephen Riddick of Raleigh served as best man. Mr. Greg Ives of Raleigh was the groomsman. Mitchell's Catering in Raleigh catered the reception at Exploris. Coconut Groove Band provided music. The bride graduated from Millbrook High School in Raleigh. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 2001 from North Carolina State University. She is a special events and promotions manager with Special Olympics of North Carolina. The groom graduated from West Stanly High School in Albemarle. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University and was a member of Chi Psi fraternity. He is an irrigation specialist/technician with TruGreen Landcare. After a honeymoon trip to St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Apex.
