The Reverend Doctor William Hawkins and Reverend Doctor William Klein officiated. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Gray Wheeler III of New Bern. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Irvin Thomas Blanchard, junior and the late Doctor Irvin Thomas Blanchard, junior, and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Gray Wheeler, junior of New Bern. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Arthur Clark of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Churchwell Crowell of Fayetteville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson Clark of Raleigh. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The maids of honor were Miss Linda Leigh Brantley and Miss Betsy Lynn Kilpatrick of Raleigh. Bridesmaids were Miss Lauren Brianna Bailey, Miss Hannah Elizabeth Bason, Miss Stephanie Suzanne Harris, Miss Katherine Joyce Roach, Miss Allison Louise Rhode, Miss Molly Gaskins Wheatly, and Miss Marilyn McLean Zschau of Raleigh; Miss Caroline Bryan Carpenter of New Bern, and Miss Meghan Taylor Kelso of Chapel Hill. Miss Annaliese McKenzie White of Simpsonville, South Carolina, served as flower girl. Mr. Clifford Arthur Clark served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Reid Spencer Clark of Raleigh, brother of the groom; Mr. Oliver Gray Wheeler IV of Raleigh, brother of the bride; Mr. William Joseph Bateman III of New York, New York; Mr. William Minton Boykin, Mr. Mark Breckenridge Gibbs, and Mr. Alexander Hudson Godwin of Raleigh; Mr. Mark Wesley Chesson of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mr. William Jerold Degenhart of Savannah, Georgia; Mr. Jeremy Garland Elliott of Atlanta, Georgia; and Mr. Bryan Merritt Kane of Charlotte. Ushers were Mr. Justin Steven Harrell, Mr. James Curtis McCaskill, Mr. Franklin Bailes Morisey, and Mr. Edward Makepeace Williams III of Raleigh. Mr. Hayden Andrew White of Midlothian, Virginia, served as ring bearer. Scripture was read by Miss Blair Lawrence Webb of Dunn and Mr. William Royster Roach of Raleigh. Guests were greeted by Miss Anna Roberson Christopher of Wilmington and Miss Cortenay Anne Griffin of Raleigh. The bride graduated from Arendell Parrott Academy and Meredith College. She was presented by The Terpsichorean Club of Raleigh at the 2001 North Carolina Debutante Ball. She is employed by Capital Investment Companies of Raleigh. The groom graduated from Broughton High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his Masters degree in Business Administration from the Lundy Fetterman School of Business at Campbell University. He is director of sales for the Real Estate Service Team, Inc. Following a wedding trip to St. Barthelemy, West Indies, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
