Hinds - 60th
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hinds of Palmyra will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2002.
A celebration with immediate family members is planned.
Betty Erickson and Harry Hinds were united in marriage on April 25, 1942, in Kahoka.
Mrs. Hinds is the daughter of the late Joe and Verada Erickson.
Mr. Hinds is the son of the late Dr. Harry and Mary Hinds.
They are the parents of three children, Sherol Gibson of Sun City West, Ariz., Alan Hinds of Palmyra, and the late Gary Hinds.
They have two granddaughters, Valerie Elkinton of Gardner, Kan., and Allison Hinds of Columbia; and three step grandchildren of Phoenix, Ariz.
They wish to include two great-grandchildren, Macey and Isaac Elkinton; and five step great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hinds served three years in the 8th U.S. Air Force in England during World War II.
He was in the dairy cattle monthly sales with his father and brother, then became an independent insurance salesman.
He is currently with Jackson National and Illinois Mutual.
Mrs. Hinds worked part-time in the offices at the dairy cattle salebarn and Palmyra Livestock.
They are active members of the United Methodist Church in Palmyra.
They enjoy winters fishing in Okeechobee, Fla., and summers in Nestor Falls, Ontario, Canada.
