Jean Marie Finnegan Selects May 30 [1941] as Date for Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose J. Finnegan, North Washington Avenue, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Jean Marie Finnegan, to Joseph R. Biden, Harrisburg, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Biden, Frederick, Md., formerly of Scranton.
The ceremony will be performed Friday, May 30, at 9 a.m. in St. Paul's Church. Miss Doris Flanagan, this city, will be maid of honor and William Sheene, Baltimore, will be best man.
Miss Finnegan attended Marywood Seminary and was employed at the Medical Arts Building. Mr. Biden was graduated from St. Thomas High School and is employed as sales representative by the American Oil Company.
In honor of the bride-elect, Mrs. William Boland, Elmhurst Boulevard, will entertain 20 guests at a shower Monday evening at her home. Wednesday evening, Miss Mary Farrington, Platt-Woolworth House, will entertain at the home of Mrs. Emmett Kearney, Woodlawn Street. Miss Jean Costanzo, North Brumley Avenue, will be hostess at a shower Monday evening, May 26, and Mrs. Gerald Finnegan will honor her sister-in-law Tuesday evening, May 27, at her home on Madison Avenue. Miss Doris Flanagan, Richmont Street, will give a spinster dinner for the bride-elect Wednesday evening, May 28, at the Colonial Home.
