Miller - Singletary
Miss Mary Leah Singletary and Mr. Rodney Eugene Miller were married on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at six o'clock in the evening at Duke University Chapel in Durham. Reverend Allen Scott Drew, cousin of the groom, officiated. A reception was held at Hope Valley Country Club following the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Mary Jane Olive Singletary and Dr. Macon Mitchell Singletary of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lucile Husketh Olive of Zebulon and the late Mr. Philip Olive, and the late Dr. and Mrs. William Vance Singletary of Durham. The groom is the son of Mrs. Neva Gray Rambo of Deatsville, Alabama, and Mr. Charles Eugene Miller of Montgomery, Alabama. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margaret Rice Gray of Hoover, Alabama and the late Mr. Harvey Gray, and Mrs. Katherine Hooks Miller Pickard of Adger, Alabama and the late Mr. Charles Richard Miller, Senior. Miss Marla Plummer Singletary of Raleigh was her sister's maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Melissa Brady Warren of Raleigh; Miss Carrie Scott Brenneman of Chapel Hill; Miss Katherine Dewes Rutledge of Charlotte; Miss Jennifer Lauren Wlach of Arlington, Virginia; and Mrs. Kelley Travis Sullivan of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Adam Gray Miller of Montgomery, Alabama served as his brother's best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Jon Richard Moody, Mr. Charles Jeffery Moody, and Mr. Brian Louis Bernier, all of Montgomery, Alabama; Mr. James Allen Sullivan, Junior of Dallas, Texas; and Mr. Jeremy Tyler Hornbuckle of Birmingham, Alabama. Readers for the wedding ceremony were Mr. Frank Pelouze Ward, III of Arlington, Virginia and Mrs. Lauren Major Bowen of LaGrange, Georgia. Program attendants were Miss Savannah Marie Singletary and Miss Stephanie Elizabeth Singletary of Raleigh. Greeter was Miss Katherine Brandon McLean of Lumberton. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Ms. Jane Lynch. The bride graduated from Ravenscroft School and Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in History. In 2001, she was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the North Carolina Debutante Ball. She received her Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University and is an associate with Alvis and Willingham, L.L.P. in Birmingham, Alabama. The groom graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and Auburn University-Montgomery with Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. He received his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. Mr. Miller is an associate with McCallum, Methvin and Terrell, P.C. in Birmingham, Alabama. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Birmingham, Alabama.
